Pages 81–85 (Wess. 510–530) cover the coastal route from Rome to Arelate (Arles) — a combined land-sea route following the Tyrrhenian coast and Ligurian Riviera — and the 'Insulae' section listing distances between Mediterranean islands. The island measurements include circumferences ('circuit') and inter-island distances for: Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, the Balearic Islands (Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza), the Dalmatian islands, and various Aegean and eastern Mediterranean islands. These island measurements are among the most interesting data in the itinerary, providing ancient estimates of island sizes that can be checked against modern cartography. Some figures are remarkably accurate; others show significant distortion, reflecting the limitations of ancient maritime surveying.
